floating past my boat, I’m going to put this away in case they decide to splash me and damage all of my paper.

It's been hours. Very long winded hours. Nothing but water and squids. Squids and water. I was naïve to think I could just sail my way out of here. I’m going to have to turn back, I’ll certainly die if I keep heading into the nothingness. I’ll continue when I make it to shore.

Okay so I must have missed a mark here, I’ve returned to a different part of the island. The shore looks more golden, the treeline is thinner. I can see lights beyond the trees.
